Talk about scoring big.

I totally scored huge at various Frenchy’s around. I found some sweet vinyl for cheap. I got the following 45’s for 50 cents each:
-DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince – Parents Just Don’t Understand
-Dirty Dancing – She’s Like The Wind with Stay on the flip side
-Dirty Dancing – (I’ve Had) The I Time Of My Life with Love Is Strange on the flip side
-Def Leppard – Love Bites with Billy’s Got A Gun on the flip side
-Cheap Trick – Don’t Be Cruel with I Know What I Want on the flip side

And, for only 75 cents, I got Pope John Paul II Sings At The Festival Of Sacrosong. And that’s unopened.

I thought that the Pope John Paul II was so wonderfully odd that I had to have it. But once I listened to it I was really impressed. That dude could sing. Who knew?

Got to love the Frenchy’s

He's the Honk Tonk Man... The Honky Tonk Man.... The Honky Tonk Man

So I got the chance last week to go see the Honky Tonk Man wrestle at Dave Dolittle’s (a bar in Dartmouth). My buddy Jamie and I got there an hour before the show started and there was only standing room left. I guess everyone else wanted to see Honky Tonk. Before the show started up they had the HTM sitting a table in front of the ring in his track suit for a meet and greet. And for $10 you could get a Polaroid of you and Honky Tonk. So after a few minutes of trying to decide if I wanted a $10 polaroid of me and Honky Tonk I finally caved. I thought that as soon as I got home I would probably kick my own ass for passing on the chance.

So I walk on up to the table and tell him that I’ve got to get the picture. He told me to come around the table and then he picks up his title belt, puts it on my shoulder and says “Here… you take this”. Now it was only his title belt for the wrestling promotion that he was there with that night but it was still pretty cool. I got to chat with him while we waited for his assistant to come around and I got to shake his hand. Now this is going to be a shock to hear but the Honky Tonk Man has the most amazingly soft skin. I’ve never met anyone, man or woman, with skin that soft. And you’d think a wrestler would have the roughest skin. Overall he’s a really nice guy. Loves to chat. And the picture will be posted soon.

And as if having the chance to meet HTM wasn’t cool enough the wrestling that night was actually pretty damn good considering it was in a bar and the best you were going to get was some hardcore middle rope action and no moves that involved flipping a guy.

Oh, and there was no Shake Rattle & Roll but there was a guitar busted over a guys head. And that’s all you really need I guess.

I can do it all with the exception of circumcisions (not that I want to).

I'm joining the ranks of The Beatles, Wolfman Jack, Sharon Stone, Orville Redenbacher, Tony Danza, and lets not forget The Honky Tonk Man.

Remember: "Do only that which is right."

Work the program and the program will work.

If you're looking for some good wrapping x-mas gifts music I would have to recommend The Misfits' Static Age album. It's a great up beat zinger. Nothing gets you in the mood like TV Casualty, Return of the Fly (with a great Vincent Price reference), Hybrid Moments (a personal favorite of mine), and the classic Bullet. You might be thinking that there's nothing christmasy about this album. But it does have a track titled Angelfuck. If that does scream chritmas then I don't know what does.

I recently scored a couple of tickets to a Mooseheads game that were right behind the players bench. It was pretty cool to sit that close to the benches. I got to see a few things that I never noticed before. Such as:

1. When the equipment/towel guy (I'm not sure what his title is) isn't throwing towels to players or re-taping sticks he's eating a lot of Hershey's Kisses. Not a bad idea.

2. The back up goalie is essentially a door man.

3. This one doesn't have so much to do with being close to the benches. I just noticed this. The newest Mooseheads mascot "Mac" sucks. He lacks the gusto that Hal has.

I went to see the Trailer Park Boys Movie last night and it was actually better than I thought it would be. I missed the Gord Downie and Alex Lifeson appearances though. I know they were cops but I missed it. Anyway. My only two complaints about the movie:

1. Trinity was played by some other kid. This is alright.

2. Lehey wouldn't stop with the shit comments. I fucking hate the shit comments. This was my reason I stopped watching the show. They were funny in the start when there were one or two in a show. But once or twice per sentence is rediculous.

Other than that I'd say it was an awsome movie.

I recently find out about a band that should have a buzz around them but for some reason don't. It might have something to do with them not playing shows and only having two solid members.

Camouflage Nights. Check out the website: www.camouflagenights.com

It's Ian McGettigan and Rob Benvie with casual members like Buck 65, Feist, Matt Murphy, Chris Murphy, and many more. It's really fucking good music. I don't really know how to describe it. As far as I can tell they only started recording last year and they've on got one 12" single and one 7" ep so far. I've got both on order and heading my way (hopefully).

I'm sure that they don't get a whole lot of time to work on this project seeing as last I heard Rob is still with The Deers (even though I think everyone should just walk away from The Deers) and Ian is still working with Joel Plaskett (producing and from time to time playing bass at the shows).

I recently bought The Strokes single for Juicebox as well. This is worth picking up. It's got a track titled "Hawaii" that didn't make it on the lastest album and it's worth hearing. I'm loving that The Strokes are doing their part in keeping the single alive. Also on The Strokes "Juicebox" single is something I've never seen on a single before. A director's cut of the Juicebox video. I haven't watched the video yet. I think that it's because I've learned to hate music video's. That or I'm just not used to watching music videos since the cable tv got cut back and MuchMusic was taking away. Not that I'm dissapointed. I've realized that I'm too old to be watching MuchMusic.
